A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash in San Francisco’s Bayview District on July 18. The victim, a 58-year-old man, was crossing the street when he was struck by a car. The car fled the scene and has not been found.

The crash occurred at approximately 10:00 PM at the intersection of Third Street and Evans Avenue. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The San Francisco Police Department is investigating the crash. Anyone with information is asked to call the SFPD Traffic Accident Investigation Unit at (415) 553-1145.

This is a tragic reminder of the dangers of hit-and-run crashes. When a driver hits a pedestrian and then flees the scene, they are not only leaving the victim to fend for themselves, but they are also making it more difficult for the police to find them and bring them to justice.
